Using Technology as a  Tool

“To educate means to lead out. And we don't lead kids out. We kind of stop them. To educate is to expose kids to many possibilities until they find a connection between what's really important to them and the world out there. And then we must nurture and cultivate that connection."   Mikaly Csikszentmihalyi

Social Engagement: Meaningful participation in the life of the school.

Academic Engagement: Active participation in the requirements for school success.

Intellectual Engagement: Serious emotional and cognitive investment in learning.

According to Dr. Sharon Friesen, when students are intellectually engaged they exhibit “an absorbing, creatively energizing focus requiring contemplation, interpretation, understanding, meaning-making and critique which results in a deep, personal commitment to explore and investigate an idea, issue, problem or question for a sustained period of time.” (p. 9)

Establishing Your Digital Footprint

"Having a digital footprint is a good thing! You are in charge of your presence on the web – it’s up to you to make it what you want it to be. Presenting yourself as yourself, sharing your thoughts, developing deeper understandings about your professional learning, is what your digital footprint should (and can) be about." ~ Silvia Tolisano
